Autumn Nail Polish Picks

Autumn is by far my favourite season. I’m much more of a ‘I’d rather be cold than hot’ person and I actually quite enjoy laying in bed listening to the pitter patter of the rain outside. I did a post about my ‘Spring Nail Polish Picks’ and people seemed to enjoy it so I thought I would do another one for Autumn.

Topshop Green Room is a light green with a blue undertone to it, I might even go as far to say it’s a very green turquoise. This nail colour needs two coats of polish and without a top coat the colour would last about 2 days without chipping.

Miss Sporty, Shade 21 is a deep emerald green and such a gorgeous colour but to get it opaque you sometimes need up to four coats. In the picture above I used 3 and even though in person it looked opaque as you can see, in the light it looks a bit streaky. If you do pick up this polish be warned that you need to be patient with it. Without using a topcoat this lasts for around 3 days before it starts to chip.

Barry M 303, Bright Purple. This is quite a deep shade with pink and blue undertones making it a lighter shade of purple. This, as with most Barry M polishes, goes opaque with 2 coats and can last a good few days before it starts to chip. If you’re strapped for cash (or don’t want to spend a lot) but don’t want to compromise on quality or colour payoff, Barry M is the brand to go to.

Jamaica Me Crazy is a dark pink colour with very fine glitter running through it (no actual chunks of glitter but more of a pearly finish). This only needed one coat of polish and lasts about 2 days before any wear begins to show.

Bahama Mama is a gorgeous deep berry shade that is one of favourites from Essie. This also only needed one coat and lasts about 2 days on the nails without any topcoat.

It’s Genius is a slightly duo-chrome polish that can look golden in a certain light, this is another polish that gives a pearly finish to it and also only needed one coat. This for some reason doesn’t wear for quite as long as the other Essie polishes mentioned and can start to chip after half a day so a top coat is a must have for this one.

I recommend using a top coat for all of these polishes as this can extend the wear of most of them to up to five days. Apologies for the swatch of Bahama Mama, I must have scratched it somehow and didn’t realise until after I took the photo (blogger fail).

Topshop nail colours go for £5.00, Miss Sporty nail colours are £1.99, Barry M nail colours start from £2.99 and Essie retail for £7.99.

What are your favourite nail colours to wear in Autumn/Fall?

Thanks for reading 🙂
