L’Oreal Preference Glam Highlights

I have put colour in my hair for years, probably getting on for a decade now, so I am no stranger to box dyes. Even though, now a days, I tend to leave it to the professionals I thought I would give this a try as the advert made it look pretty simple.

Let’s just say, this is not simple and, it’s very hard to do this by yourself. It comes with a comb that you squeeze the dye into and then brush it through your hair, seems easy enough but the comb get getting caught in my hair which, made my hair all tangled and eventually I gave up without using all the dye. I tried to get as much of my roots covered and thought it would be great as it would look as natural as when the hairdresser does it but alas, it did not work the way I wanted it to. The colour just wasn’t very bright and so my roots were still visible.

This box cost me around £5 as I got it when it was on an offer but it was just too much of a hassle with not much result for me to try it out again. If you want to give it a go you can pick this up from Boots here (for £6) but, I found it in my local supermarket.

Have you tried this before? What did you think of the results? Do you prefer to use box dye or go to the salon?

Thanks for reading 🙂
